Testimonials
I got so much from this course! It was enjoyable and stimulating, I found myself looking forward to the sessions every week. Kat is a wonderful and rare mix of personable and warm, knowledgeable and wise. I not only received a valuable skill-set, but felt personally met and encouraged each week. The sessions were fun, reflective, deeply interesting and personally nourishing. The lessons were well-paced with a balanced interplay of theory, demonstrations and practice, and allowed ample time for feedback, questions and reflections. We covered topics like focusing with the whole body, focusing in nature, and working with parts of the self, and were offered clear, digestible and helpful handouts to support the sessions. We were guided as focusers to be gentle and curious with ourselves, and as listeners to encourage depth and exploration while sustaining a holding, witnessing presence for the other. The valuable work of Focusing helped coursemates get to know each other deeply, and encouraged a deeper relationship with ourselves, particularly the wisdom of our bodies.
This course has introduced me to the most wonderful toolkit for my wellbeing, and encouraged me to access a whole community of focusing practitioners who support one another. It is empowering to be able to take responsibility for my emotional life and be able to offer a holding, listening space to others. Also to realise that accessing compassionate support is not contingent on my ability to pay for therapy. Focusing is both accessible AND deep work, there is a wealth of literature and practice to support our ongoing development- the possibilities feel really exciting.
