Focusing Skills Certificate Workshop/Event
Learning to listen to the body’s Felt Sense in a small, supportive group
25–27 September 2026
This experiential weekend will introduce the core skills from Block One and part of Block Two of the British Focusing Association Focusing Skills course.
We’ll explore how to slow down and listen inwardly, recognise the often-vague bodily “felt sense” of a situation, find words or images that resonate with it, and stay alongside our experience without trying to analyse, fix or change it.
You’ll also begin learning the relational side of Focusing: how to listen to another person in a way that supports their own inner process, reflect what you hear without interpretation, and take turns as both Focuser and Companion.
The weekend is suitable for complete beginners as well as therapists, counsellors, coaches, mindfulness practitioners and others interested in experiential and body-based approaches.
There will be plenty of opportunity to practise Focusing with others in a relaxed, small-group setting.
